KFC and Oreo are teaming up for an unusual new burger in China, combining KFC’s Original Recipe fried chicken with Oreo inspired flavours.
Set to launch across KFC restaurants in China on August 28, the Oreo Original Recipe Chicken Burger features a fried chicken thigh fillet, mashed potatoes topped with crushed Oreo pieces and dark sandwich buns designed to resemble Oreo’s chocolate wafers.
While the burger may appear to have two giant Oreo cookies as buns, the dark buns are actually bread. They are designed to recreate the appearance and flavour profile associated with Oreo’s signature chocolate wafers.
The collaboration brings together two familiar food brands in an unconventional format, turning Oreo’s distinctive cookie identity into a savoury burger experience for consumers in China.
