The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has warned social media content creators against a growing reel trend in which mobile phones are attached to the windows of moving Metro trains. The warning came after several such videos surfaced across social media platforms in recent days.

In these videos, creators attach their phones to the glass of a Metro coach and record as the train begins moving. The creator or another person then runs alongside the train, creating a cinematic effect that has gained attention online.

Why Delhi Metro has flagged the ‘phone-sticking’ trend

According to DMRC, the practice can cause inconvenience or injury to other passengers and may also result in damage to the mobile phones being used for filming. The concern comes as creators increasingly use moving trains and stations as settings for short-form social media content.

DMRC said “This act can cause inconvenience or even Injury to other passengers and can damage the mobile phone devices of the users.”

“DMRC authorities are viewing this with all seriousness and if any content creator is caught indulging in such a shoot, necessary action shall be taken.”

“Therefore, the content creators are hereby directed to not shoot such videos within the Delhi Metro premises.”

Delhi Metro rules on reels and content creation

The warning comes amid growing social media activity inside Delhi Metro trains, where commuters and creators have used the network to shoot reels and other short-form videos. However, activities that inconvenience fellow passengers or interfere with normal Metro operations are not permitted.

The latest advisory places the ‘phone-sticking’ trend within that broader safety concern. With videos built around moving trains continuing to attract attention online, DMRC has reiterated that content creation inside Metro premises must not compromise passenger safety or cause disruption.
