Entrepreneur and investor Aman Gupta, best known as the co-founder of audio and wearables brand boAt Lifestyle, has announced the launch of a new venture called OffBeat Studios, signalling his next entrepreneurial move beyond the consumer electronics space.
The announcement comes months after Gupta transitioned into a non-executive role at boAt, stepping back from the company’s day-to-day operations while continuing to remain associated with its leadership and strategic direction.
While the entrepreneur revealed the name and branding of the new venture, detailed information about OffBeat Studios’ business model, sector focus, team, or launch plans has not yet been disclosed. The initiative nevertheless marks Gupta’s first major entrepreneurial step since shifting his operational focus away from boAt.
Founded in 2014 by Gupta and Sameer Mehta, boAt has grown into one of India’s most prominent consumer electronics brands, known for its range of headphones, speakers, smartwatches, and mobile accessories. Over the years, Gupta also became widely recognised for his role as an investor and judge on the startup reality show Shark Tank India, where he built a reputation for backing early-stage ventures and promoting entrepreneurship.
The launch of OffBeat Studios signals what Gupta himself describes as “Aman 2.0,” hinting at a new phase in his entrepreneurial journey. Industry observers see the move as a natural progression for the entrepreneur, who has played a key role in building boAt into a leading brand while also becoming a prominent face of India’s startup ecosystem.
Gupta shared the news through Linkedin, writing, “ Aman 2.0 begins soon. Introducing my new venture.”
