Deconstruct #BringBackBarbershops Campaign shines a spotlight on local barbershops as more than just grooming destinations. For generations, these small, often family-run establishments have served as safe havens where conversations flow freely, routines remain unchanged, and trust is built over years, sometimes decades. From the familiar chair to the trusted hands, the barbershop has long been a cornerstone of everyday life for many Indian men.

At the heart of the campaign are three barbers, who narrate their stories in their native languages Kannada, Telugu, and Tamil. Through their voices, the film captures the emotional and cultural significance of their craft. They speak about customers who have become family, the pride in their work, and the quiet consistency of men who have returned to the same shop, the same chair, and the same routine since the 1980s and 1990s.

However, the campaign also acknowledges a sobering reality. Over the past decade, many neighbourhood barbershops have struggled to survive, with several shutting down due to changing grooming habits, urbanisation, and the rise of modern salons and digital grooming advice. The film concludes with a simple yet powerful reminder: these local institutions need our support. “Your local barber misses you.”

Rather than disrupting these long-standing rituals, Deconstruct positions itself as a brand that respects and fits into them. In the final moments of the film, Deconstruct’s Oil-Free Moisturiser makes a subtle appearance presented as a modern, soothing alternative to the traditional aftershave sting, seamlessly blending into a grooming routine that has stood the test of time.

Commenting on the campaign, Malini Adapureddy, Founder & CEO of Deconstruct, said,

“Before algorithms told men how to groom, there was the neighbourhood barber. We wanted to honour that tradition, not disrupt it. This campaign isn’t about selling a new routine; it’s about recognising one that’s already there and showing how thoughtful products can fit seamlessly into rituals men already trust. The barbershop has always been a place of care. Our Oil-Free Moisturiser simply replaces the sting at the end with something gentler.”
