Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) has announced a significant leadership transition with the elevation of Pavanjit S. Bedi to the role of Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) – Foods, marking a strategic move for one of India’s largest fast-moving consumer goods companies.
Bedi brings over 20 years of experience with the Unilever Group, having held multiple senior brand leadership roles across global markets and product categories. Most recently, he served as Global Brand Vice President, leading the transformation and rebranding initiatives for major international assets such as Glow & Lovely.
Prior to that, his career spanned influential assignments on flagship brands across Beauty & Personal Care, including Dove, Pond’s, Pears, and Lifebuoy, covering key regions such as South Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America. This diverse global exposure positions him uniquely to steer HUL’s Foods portfolio, which is equally vast and culturally nuanced.
HUL’s Foods division encompasses a wide range of staples, condiments, snacks, and ready-to-cook offerings categories that are deeply embedded in Indian households yet are continually reshaped by changing lifestyles, health preferences and digital consumption patterns. Bedi’s appointment comes at a time when marketing leadership is increasingly pivotal to driving both brand relevance and growth momentum in a competitive FMCG landscape.
In a LinkedIn post sharing the news, Bedi expressed his enthusiasm for the new assignment, describing HUL’s Foods portfolio as a category combining cultural relevance, scale and the opportunity for reinvention in an era of rapidly evolving consumer tastes and preferences.
