Swiggy has discontinued Snacc, its standalone 10–15 minute food delivery app, according to reports by Moneycontrol. The move comes less than a year after the service was launched as the company attempted to tap into the ultra-fast food delivery segment.
Snacc was introduced as a separate app offering quick delivery of snacks, beverages and ready-to-eat items through dark stores and curated menus. The service was initially rolled out in select cities including Bengaluru and later expanded to parts of NCR.
However, media reports suggest that the business struggled to achieve sustainable unit economics. High operational costs including inventory management, infrastructure and last-mile logistics reportedly made it difficult for the 10-minute model to become profitable at scale.
The development is seen as part of Swiggy’s broader push toward profitability and sharper capital allocation. Notably, Snacc is currently not available on the Google Play Store, and the app appears to have been taken down following the reported closure.
Industry observers say the shutdown highlights the ongoing challenges in making ultra-fast food delivery financially viable, despite strong consumer demand for convenience.
