Kinshuk Gupta has joined Reliance Jio as Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications, following his exit from Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), where he served as Chief Communications Officer for around 10 months. The move comes shortly after his departure from TCS in August 2026.
At Jio, Gupta will oversee the telecom company’s corporate messaging and brand communications strategy, adding another senior communications leader to the organisation as it continues to operate across telecom, digital services and consumer-facing businesses.
Gupta joined TCS in November 2025, moving from Bharti Airtel, where he had spent more than three years as Senior Vice President and Head of Corporate Communications. At TCS, his mandate covered the company’s internal and external communications as well as corporate reputation programmes.
His stint at TCS lasted around 10 months. The company has not publicly disclosed the reason for his departure.
The move to TCS had marked Gupta’s transition from telecom to the technology services sector. His return to telecom with Jio now brings his career back to an industry where he has previously handled large-scale corporate communication mandates.
Gupta brings more than two decades of experience spanning corporate communications, public relations, reputation management, stakeholder engagement and leadership communications.
Before TCS, he was with Airtel for over three years. Earlier in his career, he held senior communications and corporate affairs roles at GSK Consumer Healthcare, Max Healthcare and Edelman India, among others. His professional experience has covered sectors including technology, telecom, healthcare, FMCG and other businesses.
His earlier communications career also includes roles at Hanmer MSL Communications, IPAN Hill & Knowlton and Vaishnavi Corporate Communications.
In a LinkedIn post following his transition, Gupta reflected on his professional journey, writing that while “the work matters,” it is the relationships built along the way that often remain. He thanked colleagues and connections for the conversations, learning and friendships, and described the move as the beginning of a “new chapter.”
Gupta’s move to Jio comes at an interesting point for the telecom major. Reliance Jio recently completed 10 years, with chairman Akash Ambani highlighting the role of AI, connectivity and technology in shaping the company’s next decade. Jio is also preparing for a major IPO, adding further significance to its corporate narrative and stakeholder communications.
