Hilti India has launched ‘REWIND’, a new brand film for National Engineers’ Day that celebrates the engineers behind the infrastructure shaping modern India.
Built around the thought “Everything that exists today, once did not exist,” the film takes viewers backwards through the creation of some of the structures that have become part of everyday life. Instead of focusing on the finished buildings, bridges, tunnels, airports and highways, the campaign turns its attention to the ideas, calculations, challenges and decisions that came before them.
The film has been launched as part of Hilti India’s National Engineers’ Day communication and aims to highlight the role of engineering expertise and problem-solving in turning concepts into physical infrastructure.
‘REWIND’ follows the journey of creation in reverse. A finished structure leads viewers back to the stages that preceded it, from construction to planning and eventually to the initial idea behind the project.
The campaign uses this approach to underline that infrastructure does not begin with concrete, steel or machinery. It begins with an engineer identifying a problem, developing a solution and working through the technical challenges required to bring that solution to life.
The film’s central thought is reflected in lines such as “Before the skyline, there was a sketch. Before the bridge, there was a calculation. Before the project, there was a challenge waiting to be solved.”
By shifting the narrative from what has been built to the people who imagined and engineered it, Hilti is positioning engineers as an integral part of India’s ongoing infrastructure story.
National Engineers’ Day is observed in India on September 15, marking the birth anniversary of engineer and statesman Sir M. Visvesvaraya, whose contributions to irrigation, dams and infrastructure are associated with India’s early engineering and development efforts.
For Hilti, the occasion also connects with its work alongside engineers and construction professionals involved in infrastructure projects across the country.
The film concludes with “You, Us, and Hilti.”, reinforcing the brand’s positioning as a partner to the engineers and construction professionals working on India’s infrastructure.
Jayant Kumar, General Manager and Managing Director, Hilti India, said, “Every structure begins long before construction starts. It begins with an idea, a challenge to solve, or a possibility that someone chooses to pursue. Through REWIND, we wanted to celebrate the engineers whose vision and expertise turn those possibilities into reality. As India continues its journey towards Viksit Bharat, engineers are playing a critical role in shaping the infrastructure that will define the future. At Hilti, our purpose is Making Construction Better, and we are proud to partner with the people who are building a stronger, more developed India every day.”
