HP and Perplexity are bringing more AI capabilities directly to Windows PCs, with HP set to pre-load the Perplexity Windows app on select devices. The rollout begins with the HP ZBook Ultra G3a, a workstation designed for demanding AI and graphics workloads.
The app will be available directly from the taskbar, giving users access to Perplexity’s AI research and Computer features. Computer can work across Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams, as well as local files, connected apps, and the web.
It can also connect with more than 400 apps and data sources, including Salesforce, HubSpot, Snowflake and Autodesk Revit. The computer can orchestrate more than 15 AI models from companies including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google for different parts of a task.
The Windows app also includes Portable Computer, which allows supported HP devices to run AI tasks locally. Users can analyse data, work with files, and complete workflows without sending information to the cloud. They can also choose to escalate tasks to cloud models when additional reasoning is needed.
The company has also integrated Portable Computer with Autodesk Revit through its Revit 2027 Multi Context Protocol server. Users can ask questions about an open building model, find specific elements, and export views, PDFs, and schedules. The integration is currently read-only and does not modify the Revit model.
The ZBook Ultra G3a uses AMD Ryzen AI Max PRO 400 series processors, providing the local computing capacity needed for demanding AI workloads. More HP Windows devices with Perplexity are expected to launch in the coming months.
