The National Stock Exchange (NSE) of India has raised Rs 6,746.2 crore through its anchor book ahead of its initial public offering. The allocation was made on September 16 to 189 anchor investors at the upper end of the IPO price band at Rs 1,785 per share.
The anchor investors include domestic and global institutions such as Life Insurance Corporation of India, Government Pension Fund Global, Monetary Authority of Singapore, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority and Fidelity. LIC emerged as the largest anchor investor with an investment of around Rs 465.3 crore across its schemes.
NSE IPO Opens With Rs 22,561 Crore Offer
The NSE IPO will remain open for public subscription from September 17 to September 21. The issue is valued at Rs 22,561.57 crore and comprises an offer for sale of 12.64 crore equity shares by existing shareholders, meaning NSE itself will not receive proceeds from the IPO.
The price band has been fixed at Rs 1,700 to Rs 1,785 per share. The IPO is seeking a valuation of around Rs 4.42 lakh crore, while the shares are expected to begin trading on the BSE after the allotment process.
Domestic And Global Investors Participate In Anchor Book
Foreign portfolio investors received shares worth around Rs 2,883 crore, accounting for about 43% of the anchor book. The allocation included institutions such as Norway’s Government Pension Fund Global, Singapore’s Monetary Authority of Singapore, ADIA and Fidelity.
Domestic mutual funds received 1.39 crore shares, representing about 36.98% of the anchor allocation. Insurance companies and pension funds also participated, with LIC and other insurers together accounting for around Rs 1,081.8 crore of the anchor investment.
