Aparna Mehrotra has joined Universal Sompo General Insurance as Assistant Vice President, Strategic Lead, Communications, Public Relations & Social Media, taking on a new mandate across corporate communications, PR, brand and social media.
She announced the move in a LinkedIn post, describing the appointment as a new chapter that will bring together her experience across PR, brand, marketing and social media.
Mehrotra joins Universal Sompo General Insurance after more than four years with SBI General Insurance, where she most recently served as Chief Manager – Corporate Communications from May 2024 to July 2026. She previously held the positions of Senior Manager Corporate Communications from April 2023 to April 2024 and Manager Corporate Communications from March 2022 to March 2023.
Before SBI General Insurance, Mehrotra was with Havas Group India, where she served as Senior Manager – Marketing and Communications from April 2021 to February 2022 and Manager – Marketing & Communication from May 2019 to April 2021.
Earlier, she worked with Adfactors PR as Senior Account Executive from May 2018 to May 2019, MullenLowe Lintas Group – GolinOpinion as Manager from November 2016 to April 2018, and MullenLowe Lintas Group as Executive from January 2016 to November 2016.
Before that, Mehrotra worked with Linopinion – The Lintas PR Division, where she worked as Project Executive from January 2015 to January 2016 after starting as a Public Relations Intern from June 2014 to December 2014.
