Amul has found a fitting way to remember Nana Patekar: by bringing several versions of the actor together in one frame.
Its latest topical carries the line ‘Har Part Ka Samrat’, a play on Patekar’s acclaimed Marathi film Natsamrat and a nod to the many characters he brought to the screen. The tribute follows the veteran actor’s death at 75 on October 8, 2026.

The monochrome illustration features multiple caricatures of Patekar in different looks, from a police uniform to rugged, weapon-wielding characters. At the centre is a seated version of the actor, with the other figures surrounding him like a collection of familiar screen personas.
Rather than picking one film or character to represent his career, the artwork brings together the many shades of Patekar’s on-screen identity.
And that is what makes the line work.
The word “Samrat” recalls Natsamrat, the 2016 Marathi film in which Patekar delivered one of his celebrated performances. “Har Part”, meanwhile, shifts the focus to the range of roles he played across Hindi and Marathi cinema.
His filmography moved between intense dramas such as Parinda and Krantiveer and the comic gangster Uday Shetty in the Welcome franchise. His performances earned him three National Film Awards, reflecting a career that was not confined to one genre or screen persona.

The artwork carries his name and the years 1951–2026 at the bottom, alongside the Amul logo.
There is no elaborate copy explaining his legacy. The illustration and the wordplay do most of the work, letting the different character sketches serve as reminders of the actor’s range.
Rather than choosing one defining role, Amul remembers Nana Patekar through the many characters that made him such a distinctive presence on screen.
