Artificial intelligence company Anthropic has announced the opening of its new office in Bengaluru, marking a significant step in its expansion across India. The move reflects the company’s growing focus on the country, which has emerged as one of the fastest-growing markets for its AI assistant, Claude.

Anthropic’s presence in India has expanded steadily over the past year, with increasing use of Claude across technology, aviation and financial services. Among its enterprise collaborations, Air India is using Claude to assist with software development and operational efficiency.

Beyond corporate partnerships, Anthropic has announced collaborations in education and social impact. It is working with organisations such as Pratham and Central Square Foundation to explore AI-enabled learning tools. Additional initiatives include partnerships with EkStep Foundation in the agriculture space and support for Adalat AI, which aims to improve access to legal information through digital platforms.

“India represents one of the world’s most promising opportunities to bring the benefits of responsible AI to vastly more people and enterprises,” said Irina Ghose, Managing Director of India, Anthropic. “Already, it’s home to extraordinary technical talent, digital infrastructure at scale, and a proven track record of using technology to improve people’s lives. That’s exactly the foundation you need to make sure this technology reaches the people who can benefit from it most.”
