In a significant leadership move aimed at revitalising one of India’s most recognisable consumer electronics brands, Mirc Electronics, the company behind Onida has appointed Gunjan Srivastava as its new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. He takes charge from February 2026 and will be based out of Mumbai, steering the company’s overall strategy and operations.
He announced this move via a linkedin post.
With more than 33 years of cross-sector experience spanning consumer electronics, home appliances, and FMCG, Srivastava brings a strong track record in brand transformation, market expansion and operational restructuring.
Before joining Onida, he served as CEO of BSH Home Appliances UK & Ireland from 2020 to early 2026. During his tenure, he led the regional business through post-pandemic recovery and competitive market shifts. Prior to that, he headed the Asia Pacific region for BSH Household Appliances Group from Singapore, overseeing multi-market growth strategies.
His longest and perhaps most impactful stint in India was as Managing Director and CEO at Bosch and Siemens Home Appliances Manufacturing, where he was responsible for sales growth, brand building, expansion of service networks and localisation strategies across India and neighbouring markets.
Srivastava’s career reflects a consistent focus on scaling brands and improving profitability.
At Philips, between 2004 and 2012, he held multiple senior roles across India, Singapore and the Netherlands. As Director – TV and Entertainment Solutions Business in India, he grew the division significantly within three years, improving margins and strengthening market share in a highly competitive segment.
He later led global marketing transformation initiatives in the Netherlands, driving productivity improvements across categories. His experience also includes leadership roles at Sennheiser India, where he managed consumer electronics and professional audio businesses, and earlier assignments with Gillette India and Wipro Consumer Care in brand and sales leadership functions.
Interestingly, between corporate roles, Srivastava also ventured into entrepreneurship by founding Open Minds Education in Mumbai, reflecting his appetite for building ventures from the ground up.
