Sarvam AI And Razorpay Partner To Launch Voice-First Conversational Commerce

Sarvam AI and Razorpay have officially announced a strategic partnership to build a ‘voice-first’ conversational commerce ecosystem in India. By combining Sarvam’s multilingual AI models and agentic stack with Razorpay’s payments infrastructure, the two companies aim to allow users to discover products and complete transactions using natural spoken language, catering to India’s diverse, multilingual population.

The companies state that this new technology will allow AI agents to understand user intent in various Indian languages and handle the entire shopping journey from start to finish. According to the announcement, the experience will first launch with Swiggy as an early partner. This will enable customers to order food simply by speaking to an AI assistant on the Indus App, making the process as easy as having a standard conversation.

For Sarvam AI, this partnership represents a major step in bringing their ‘agentic stack’ to real-world commercial use. They believe that voice-first commerce is the next generation of digital interaction in India. By integrating directly with Razorpay’s ‘agentic payments’ system, the AI can not only understand what a user wants to buy but also securely process the payment without the user needing to navigate complex menus or apps.

Razorpay describes this collaboration as the beginning of a new era where commerce in India sounds very different. They highlighted that the ability for AI to complete transactions seamlessly in local languages is a key part of the future of digital India. The brand aims to remove the barriers that currently exist in traditional e-commerce apps, especially for users who prefer speaking over typing.

This partnership positions both companies at the intersection of Agentic AI and digital payments. By focusing on voice-first discovery and checkout, they are targeting a more inclusive digital economy that works for everyone, regardless of their tech-savviness. The launch with Swiggy on the Indus App serves as a live demonstration of how these AI-driven conversations can simplify everyday tasks like food delivery.
