Royal Enfield has launched its first electric motorcycle, the Flying Flea C6, entering the electric two wheeler segment. According to the company, this move marks its entry into the electric mobility space, with a focus on premium urban motorcycles rather than mass market commuter EVs.

The bike is priced at around Rs 2.79 lakh ex showroom, with a battery as a service option reducing the upfront cost to about Rs 1.99 lakh. Bookings are open, with test rides starting in Bengaluru and deliveries expected from May.

As per Royal Enfield, the Flying Flea C6 draws inspiration from the brand’s World War II era lightweight motorcycles, blending retro styling with modern electric technology. The model is positioned as a premium urban electric bike, aimed at riders looking for a mix of heritage design and contemporary performance.

The Flying Flea C6 is designed for urban use, offering a claimed range of about 150 km and a top speed of around 115 kmph. It uses a lithium ion battery and supports fast charging. The motorcycle features a digital display, connectivity features, and over the air updates, along with safety features such as dual channel ABS and traction control.

The model takes design cues from Royal Enfield’s older lightweight motorcycles while incorporating electric powertrain components. The company has introduced Flying Flea as a separate electric focused brand.
