Eternal-owned District is stepping up its sports business as it looks to expand beyond ticketing and experiences into the broader recreational sports ecosystem.
According to reports by ET, the company is evaluating acquisition opportunities and exploring partnerships as part of its strategy to strengthen its sports offerings. The move comes as the District seeks to build on its existing presence in sports ticketing and venue booking services.
District, which was launched as Eternal’s going-out platform, currently offers access to movies, live events, dining experiences and sports. The company has also expanded into sports venue bookings, allowing users to reserve courts and playing spaces through the platform.
The latest push reflects District’s efforts to tap into India’s growing recreational sports market, where participation in amateur and community sports has been steadily increasing.
While the company has not disclosed specific acquisition targets, the strategy signals its intent to create a more comprehensive sports ecosystem and strengthen user engagement beyond event-based transactions. The expansion comes as Eternal continues to invest in District as a key growth vertical, positioning the platform as a one-stop destination for entertainment, experiences and sports activities.
