InsuranceDekho IPO Eyes September DRHP Filing For Rs 2,500 To Rs 3,000 Cr Raise: Reports

InsuranceDekho is preparing to file draft papers for its initial public offering by the end of September, as the insurtech platform looks to raise between Rs 2,500 crore and Rs 3,000 crore. The company is targeting a stock market debut by March 2027 at an estimated valuation of around Rs 9,500 crore.

According to Economic Times, citing sources, the proposed IPO is expected to comprise a mix of fresh equity shares and an offer for sale by existing investors. The fresh issue is likely to support business expansion and growth initiatives, while the offer for sale will provide a partial exit opportunity for current shareholders.

InsuranceDekho is not planning to raise any pre IPO funding before filing its draft red herring prospectus. The company has reportedly decided to move ahead with the public issue without an additional private fundraising round ahead of the listing.

Merger With RenewBuy Could Strengthen IPO Plans

The IPO preparations come as InsuranceDekho is also working to complete its proposed merger with insurance distribution platform RenewBuy. The combined entity is expected to strengthen its market position by expanding its distribution network, customer base, and product offerings ahead of the public listing.

The merger is expected to improve operating scale and create one of India’s largest insurance distribution platforms. Once completed, the combined business is expected to be better positioned to compete in the country’s rapidly growing digital insurance market as investor interest in insurtech companies continues to rise.

InsuranceDekho Expands Public Market Preparations

Earlier this month, reports indicated that InsuranceDekho’s parent company had appointed HSBC, Morgan Stanley, ICICI Securities, and IIFL Capital Services as advisers for the proposed IPO. The company has been laying the groundwork for a public listing for several months as it prepares to enter the capital markets.

Founded as part of the CarDekho Group, InsuranceDekho has grown into one of India’s largest digital insurance distribution platforms, offering motor, health, life, and travel insurance through an extensive network of online and offline partners. The planned IPO is expected to be among the notable insurtech listings in India’s public markets over the coming year.
