Ola Electric is opening its sales and service network to dealer partners across India, marking a shift in its retail strategy. The company will gradually reposition its own stores around brand and product experiences, while dealers take a larger role in local sales and servicing.
The announcement was made by Ola Electric founder Bhavish Aggarwal, who said the company has spent the past month engaging with dealers across the country. Ola expects the dealer network to achieve meaningful scale ahead of the Diwali festive period.
There’s something a lot of people have been asking us to do since the day we announced our first products 5 years ago! Taking that decision today. We’re opening our sales and service network to dealer partners across India today.

Ola Electric Shifts Towards Dealer-Led Model
Ola Electric initially built its own retail network to increase EV awareness and establish its presence across India. According to Aggarwal, the company has since built an electric two-wheeler customer base of more than 10 lakh.
“We started with our own stores to build EV awareness, establish the brand, and created India’s largest EV 2W customer base of more than 10 lakh!” Aggarwal said.
Explaining the shift, he added, “Auto retail has a lot of local nuances, and as the industry has matured and EV acceptance has risen, we are now evolving our approach.”
Over the next few months, Ola’s company stores will increasingly focus on brand and product experience. Dealer partners, meanwhile, will become responsible for expanding local sales, service and the company’s presence across markets.
“Now, over the next few months, we will evolve our company stores to focus on brand and product experience, while dealer partners will become the backbone of local sales, service and scale,” Aggarwal said.
Ola Eyes Dealer Network Scale Ahead of Diwali
Ola’s dealer partners will have access to its portfolio of electric scooters and motorcycles, along with energy products such as Shakti. The company also sees its existing customer base as a recurring servicing opportunity for dealers.
“For partners, the opportunity is powerful: strong brand pull, a large recurring service opportunity from India’s largest EV 2W installed base, and a portfolio spanning scooters, motorcycles and our energy products like Shakti and other upcoming ones,” Aggarwal said.
Ola has not disclosed how many dealerships it plans to establish. However, Aggarwal said the company expects “meaningful on-ground scale in time for the Diwali rush!”
BVR Subbu, former President of Hyundai India and an earlier Ola Electric board member, will also rejoin the company as Senior Advisor to help execute the new dealer-led strategy.
