PepsiCo has appointed Smita Basu Roy as Head of Communications for India and South Asia, marking a new leadership move for the company’s communications function in the region.
In her new role, Roy will oversee Corporate Communications, Digital Communications, Corporate Branding and Internal Communications across India and South Asia. Her remit also includes digital platforms such as the company’s web and social media channels.
Roy joins PepsiCo after serving as the communications head at Godrej Enterprises Group. Before that, she led corporate communications at Voltas Limited, adding experience across both consumer-facing and large corporate environments.
Her move brings her into PepsiCo’s broader India and South Asia communications operation, covering a portfolio that spans the company’s food and beverage businesses.
The appointment comes as PepsiCo continues to evolve its communication approach across corporate reputation, digital engagement and brand storytelling.
Roy’s role extends beyond traditional public relations. With responsibility for corporate, digital, internal and branding communications, the position brings multiple communication functions under one leadership mandate.
Her experience at Godrej Enterprises Group and Voltas adds to a career focused on corporate communications and reputation management, as she takes on the PepsiCo India and South Asia mandate.
