The Department of Posts under the Ministry of Communications has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with DTDC Express Limited to strengthen logistics and e-commerce delivery operations across India.
The agreement, formalised in New Delhi in the presence of senior officials from both organisations, builds on an ongoing collaboration that began in 2025. It aims to leverage the Department of Posts’ extensive nationwide infrastructure alongside DTDC’s logistics expertise to enhance parcel delivery efficiency across the country.
At the core of the partnership is the integration of networks, enabling DTDC to utilise the Department of Posts’ vast reach of over 1.64 lakh post offices. This is expected to significantly improve last-mile delivery, particularly in rural and remote regions, while catering to the growing demand driven by India’s booming e-commerce sector.
The collaboration will focus on joint logistics operations, capacity sharing, and the adoption of best practices in the parcel delivery ecosystem. Both entities will also align marketing strategies and enhance service quality through improved operational efficiency. Additionally, quarterly review meetings will be conducted to monitor progress and explore new areas of cooperation.
A key component of the partnership includes strengthening cash-on-delivery (COD) services, an essential feature for India’s e-commerce market, while improving delivery speed and reliability across urban and underserved areas.
For DTDC, access to the Department of Posts’ expansive network will enable deeper penetration into smaller towns and remote locations. Meanwhile, the Department of Posts is expected to benefit from enhanced parcel business capabilities, faster delivery timelines, and a stronger foothold in the evolving logistics landscape.
