What began as speculation around MS Dhoni’s ‘number 8’ has now been revealed as part of a larger campaign with The Sleep Company, which has also appointed him as its brand ambassador, aiming to spotlight India’s growing sleep deprivation crisis and promote the importance of 8 hours of truly peaceful sleep.

From jersey speculation to a national conversation, MS Dhoni partners with The Sleep Company to spotlight India’s sleep crisis and champion 8 hours of truly peaceful rest.

For years, the number 7 has been inseparable from MS Dhoni. So when conversations around him and the number 8 began surfacing, fans were curious. Now, the mystery has a surprising answer and it goes beyond cricket.

The Sleep Company has announced MS Dhoni as its brand ambassador, turning the intrigue around ‘Number 8’ into a powerful nationwide message on sleep deprivation. The campaign, titled “India Vs Peaceful Sleep,” reimagines the number not as a jersey, but as a goal: 8 hours of peaceful sleep.

By linking Dhoni’s iconic identity with the number 8, the brand cleverly shifts the narrative from curiosity to consciousness.

On coming on board as Brand Ambassador, MS Dhoni said, “For me, it’s always been about giving my best, every single day. By the end of the night, there’s one thing I truly need and value peaceful sleep. I believe 8 hours of peaceful sleep makes all the difference and I’m excited to finally champion it with The Sleep Company.”

At the heart of the campaign is a digital film that highlights a simple yet overlooked truth, sleeping longer doesn’t always mean sleeping better. Constant tossing, discomfort, and poor support often disrupt rest, impacting daily performance and well-being.

Speaking about the campaign, Priyanka Salot & Harshil Salot, Co-Founders, The Sleep Company, said, “India is the second most sleep-deprived country in the world. To change a national habit, you need national attention and there is no one India trusts more than MS Dhoni. This isn’t just a campaign; it’s a movement to redefine well-being. With MS Dhoni leading the charge, we want to make ‘8 hours of peaceful sleep’ a non-negotiable part of every Indian household.”

Adding to this, Priya Pardiwalla, Chief Creative Officer at StevePriya, said, “In a country that is always pushing, striving, and staying switched on, peaceful sleep has quietly become one of India’s biggest unmet needs. With MS Dhoni joining The Sleep Company, we knew the story had to be told in a disruptive way.
