OnePlus India CEO Robin Liu has stepped down from his role, with the company maintaining that its operations in India will continue without any disruption. The transition comes at a significant moment for the brand, as it recalibrates its sales strategy and navigates increasing competition in one of its most important global markets, while also preparing for upcoming product launches.

In a statement, the company confirmed Liu’s departure, saying, “We thank Robin for his contributions to OnePlus India. He moves on to pursue his personal passions, and we wish him the very best for his future endeavours.”

Reports indicate that before his exit, Liu’s reporting line had shifted under Sky Li, CEO of Realme, who now oversees sub-brand operations within the broader OPPO Group. This restructuring is part of a global effort to streamline resources and manage rising input costs. In India, this has led to a renewed focus on online sales, a move aimed at protecting margins but one that has raised concerns among offline retailers due to supply inconsistencies.

Around two months prior to his exit, Robin Liu had publicly addressed speculation around OnePlus India’s operations through a social media post, stating that the business was “operating as usual” and dismissing circulating misinformation. The message was aimed at reassuring stakeholders about the brand’s stability. His decision to step down now marks a notable shift from that earlier stance, coming amid ongoing structural and market changes.

The leadership change comes at a time when OnePlus is facing growing market pressure. Industry data shows its market share in India declined to 2.4% in 2025 from 3.9% the previous year. As competitors like Samsung and Vivo strengthen their presence in the premium segment, the brand is also expected to navigate potential price increases for upcoming devices due to global supply constraints.

Currently, OnePlus has not announced a successor for the CEO role. The existing leadership team is expected to oversee India operations in the interim, with focus on upcoming launches including the Nord 6.
