Vantara has entered the premium dessert space with the launch of Vantara Creamery, an artisanal ice cream venture that blends nostalgia-driven flavours with ingredient-led storytelling and small-batch craftsmanship. The brand made its debut in Mumbai through an experiential ice cream truck installation at Jio World Drive, introducing consumers to a range of unconventional flavours including Filter Coffee, Guava Chilli, Lemon Sorbet, and Malai Kulfi.
Vantara Creamery is positioning itself as more than just another premium ice cream label. The brand’s focus appears to be on culturally rooted flavours, nostalgia-inspired experiences, and artisanal preparation methods aimed at younger urban consumers increasingly drawn towards experience-led food brands. The ice creams are made using A2 Gir cow milk and are designed to combine familiar Indian flavour memories with a modern artisanal format.
The launch was accompanied by a branded ice cream truck experience at Jio World Drive on May 9 and 10, with additional activations planned later this month. Through the travelling format, the brand attempted to create a more immersive and interactive introduction for consumers rather than relying solely on retail placement.
The move also reflects a larger shift taking place within India’s dessert and artisanal ice cream market, where brands are increasingly leaning into nostalgia, regional flavours, clean ingredients, and small-batch positioning to stand out in an increasingly crowded category. Across cities like Mumbai and Bengaluru, consumers have shown growing interest in experimental flavours and premium dessert experiences that go beyond traditional vanilla-and-chocolate offerings.
Interestingly, nostalgia itself has become a strong emotional hook within the ice cream category. Online conversations and food communities frequently discuss childhood-inspired flavours, regional desserts, and unconventional combinations that recreate familiar memories in newer formats.
