Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries Limited, has acquired Tamil Nadu-based Southern Health Foods Private Limited, the company behind the popular health food brand Manna.

Southern Health Foods has been operating for over two decades and is known for manufacturing a wide range of healthy food products. Its flagship brand Manna has built a strong presence in Tamil Nadu and adjoining states, particularly in the millet-based and health-focused packaged foods segment.

With this acquisition, RCPL strengthens its foods and staples portfolio, which already includes brands such as Udhaiyam, Independence and SiL. The addition of Manna is expected to help RCPL expand its footprint in the growing millet-based foods market and reinforce its presence in the health and nutrition category.

The acquisition aligns with RCPL’s stated philosophy of offering “global quality at affordable price” and signals its intent to build a significant presence in India’s expanding health foods segment.

Krishnakumar, Director, Reliance Consumer Products Limited, said, “Manna is one of the most trusted names in the health focused foods market in Tamil Nadu with noticeable presence in the adjoining states. It is known for healthy offerings like millet-based staples and mixes, drinks and baby food. Apart from adding muscle to RCPL’s packaged foods portfolio, Manna’s addition will help us serve consumers the best nutritious foods. With our strong distribution, R&D and supply chain capabilities, Manna would be made available in other geographies – eventually making it a household name across the country.”
