Malaysia Airlines has partnered with Mumbai Indians to introduce a specially designed aircraft livery, bringing together the distinctive blue and gold of the cricket franchise with the airline’s signature branding. The new livery is featured on a Airbus A330-300, transforming the aircraft into a visual representation of sport, culture and connectivity.

The design incorporates elements from both brands, including a dynamic pulse radiating from the Mumbai Indians emblem and its Chakra motif, symbolising motion and momentum. Flowing patterns across the aircraft reflect the team’s expanding global fanbase.

To mark the launch, the two partners have released a digital film highlighting Mumbai’s culture, its cricketing passion and elements of Malaysian hospitality. The aircraft is expected to operate on key routes later this year, connecting destinations across India, Asia and other international markets. The collaboration aims to extend the matchday experience beyond stadiums, allowing fans to carry their team identity into their travel journeys.

Alongside this initiative, Malaysia Airlines continues to promote its Bonus Side Trip programme, which allows eligible international travellers transiting through Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1 to visit an additional Malaysian destination at no extra base fare, excluding taxes. The programme currently covers eight domestic destinations across Malaysia.

The airline is also aligning its efforts with the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign, working with government and industry partners to strengthen Malaysia’s positioning as a regional travel hub. This collaboration builds on Malaysia Airlines’ earlier announcement as the Official Global Airline Partner of Mumbai Indians, with the airline’s branding featured prominently on the team’s jersey.

Bryan Foong, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Airline Business from Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), said, “India remains a key growth market for Malaysia Airlines as we continue to strengthen our presence and connectivity across the region. This collaboration with Mumbai Indians allows us to go beyond traditional aviation partnerships by integrating cultural relevance into our brand experience. It reflects our commitment to building meaningful, long-term connections with customers while reinforcing Malaysia Airlines as a carrier that connects people, places and passions across our global network.”

A Mumbai Indians spokesperson, said, “Our collaboration with Malaysia Airlines is a powerful expression of how the Mumbai Indians brand continues to travel beyond the game and into culture. Seeing our colours take flight on a global platform is a proud moment, as it connects fans across geographies and brings the spirit of Mumbai to the world. Malaysia Airlines has been a forward-thinking partner of sharing our vision of creating meaningful fan experiences not just in stadiums, but across journeys.”
