Mehul Agrawal has stepped back from his operating role as Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Cars24 over eleven years with the company. He will continue to remain associated with the organisation as a member of the board, marking a transition in his role as the company enters its next phase of growth.
Reflecting on the company’s journey from its early days to its current scale. He described the move as emotional but timely, noting that Cars24 has reached a stage of operational maturity and recently achieved its first globally profitable quarter, which he referred to as an inflection point for both the company and himself.
In his statement, Agrawal highlighted the evolution of Cars24 from a small founding team working out of a petrol pump to a business valued at over $3 billion, operating across multiple geographies and business lines. He emphasised that the company’s growth has been driven by multiple ‘zero to one’ journeys, involving both failures and successes, and pointed to the increasing depth of leadership across teams as a sign of organisational strength.

He also expressed confidence in the current leadership, particularly CEO Vikram Chopra, noting that the company’s future trajectory will be shaped by a unified team approach and an AI-led mindset. Agrawal indicated that while his operating responsibilities will change, his long term association with Cars24 will continue in a different capacity.
Agrawal has been associated with Cars24 since August 2015. Prior to this, he was the Founder and Managing Director of FabFurnish.com from March 2012 to July 2015. He also worked as a Consultant at Boston Consulting Group from July 2009 to 2012, and completed a summer internship at Morgan Stanley between April 2008 and June 2008.
