Gajendra Jangid has stepped down from his role as Co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at Cars24 after an 11 year journey with the company. His exit marks a leadership transition at the online auto marketplace as it continues to scale its operations and evolve beyond its founding team. The development comes at a critical juncture as the company prepares for its anticipated initial public offering (IPO).

Reflecting on the company’s journey since its inception and the timing of his move. He noted that the decision had been under consideration for some time and described it as both emotional and necessary, indicating that Cars24 has reached a stage where it can operate independently of its founders. He emphasised that stepping down from a formal role does not mean disengagement, stating that his association with the brand, marketing and initiatives like Crashfree India will continue in a different capacity.
He also pointed to Cars24’s evolution into a scaled organisation with strong team led decision making, highlighting the leadership of Vikram Chopra and the broader team as a key factor in his decision, indicating confidence in the company’s current direction and structure.
Jangid has been associated with Cars24 since May 2015. In addition to his role at the company, he has been involved in Crashfree India since February 2025. Prior to Cars24, he worked at Schlumberger for over nine years between October 2006 and October 2015, holding multiple roles including WIT Operations Manager from August 2014 to October 2015, WIT FSM from August 2013 to August 2014.
DESC Engineer Cementing from November 2011 to August 2013, Deepwater Cementing Engineer from February 2011 to November 2011, EIC WIT North East from July 2010 to February 2011, and Field Engineer Cementing from October 2006 to July 2010. His experience spans operations, field services and engineering across India and international markets. He holds a degree in engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, where he studied from 2001 to 2005.
