ClearTax has launched a new campaign, ‘Double Check’, highlighting the growing need for accuracy in tax filing as more Indians report income from investments, trading, and other financial assets alongside salaries.
The campaign features three films centered on a trader, an investor, and a wealth builder, showcasing the role of expert-assisted tax filing for increasingly complex tax returns.
The campaign examines a shift in tax-filing patterns following the introduction of the Rs 7 lakh income tax rebate in 2023. According to ClearTax, filings using ITR 3 in the Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh income bracket grew 116% year on year, while ITR 2 filings increased by around 42%. The company said nearly one-third of all tax returns are now filed using ITR 2 or ITR 3, reflecting rising participation in investments such as equities, futures and options, ESOPs, and other financial assets.
With the rebate threshold now increased to Rs 12 lakh, ClearTax expects the share of complex tax filings to rise further this filing season. Through the Double Check campaign, the company aims to position its platform as a solution for taxpayers seeking greater accuracy and expert support while filing increasingly complex returns.
Commenting on the campaign, Archit Gupta, Founder and CEO, ClearTax, said, “The way Indians engage with their money has been evolving constantly. People are trading in F&O, holding equity portfolios, exercising ESOPs, and earning across more than one source. They are tracking their own gains and managing portfolios that look very different from a single salary slip. ‘Double Check’ is rooted in that shift. It reflects a consumer who expects the same diligence from the platforms they use.”
He further added, “Our focus is on building products that match that, keeping filing simple, reliable, and accurate even as the income behind it gets more complex. Whether it is greater accuracy, surfacing every eligible saving, or expert guidance when needed, the goal is to give taxpayers confidence in every financial decision.”
