Deepinder Goyal's Temple Says It Pays No One To Use Or Promote Its Wearable

Deepinder Goyal-backed neurotechnology startup Temple has clarified that it does not pay anyone to wear or promote its brain-monitoring wearable, drawing a clear line between product advocacy and paid endorsements. The statement comes amid growing curiosity around the startup and recent speculation on social media over who has been seen wearing the device.

In a statement shared by the company, Temple said, “We don’t pay anyone to use Temple. We don’t pay anyone to promote Temple. Every Temple is earned through contribution.” The startup added that its philosophy is to build a community of believers who contribute to its mission rather than rely on traditional celebrity or influencer marketing.

Temple is developing a wearable designed to continuously monitor cerebral blood flow in real time. The device, which sits near the wearer’s temple, aims to provide insights into brain performance and neurological activity, an area that remains largely unexplored by mainstream consumer wearables. Deepinder Goyal has previously described it as an ambitious effort to build a new category of health technology focused on elite performance and brain health.

The startup has attracted significant interest since emerging from stealth earlier this year. Temple recently raised $54 million in a friends-and-family funding round at a post-money valuation of around $190 million, with backing from investors including Peak XV Partners, Steadview Capital, Info Edge Ventures and several prominent Indian startup founders.

Unlike many consumer technology brands that lean heavily on influencer campaigns during product launches, Temple appears to be positioning itself differently. By publicly stating that no one is paid to wear or promote its wearable, the company is signalling that product credibility and long-term contribution matter more than sponsored visibility.
