KitKat is proving that a brand’s identity can travel far beyond the snack aisle. The iconic chocolate wafer brand has partnered with Brazilian beauty label Risqué to launch a limited-edition collection of chocolate-scented nail polishes, transforming the familiar colours, flavours and sensory appeal of KitKat into a beauty product.
The collaboration features six nail polish shades, each inspired by KitKat’s signature visual identity and flavour portfolio. The collection includes hues ranging from rich chocolate browns to the brand’s signature red, alongside gold and green tones that reference some of KitKat’s most recognisable variants. Adding to the experience, every polish carries a chocolate fragrance, bringing the brand’s signature sensory appeal into the world of beauty.
The launch marks another example of brands moving beyond their core product categories to create culturally relevant experiences. Rather than introducing another food product, KitKat is leveraging one of its strongest brand assets, its instantly recognisable colours, flavours and emotional appeal to enter an entirely different category.
Cross-category collaborations have become an increasingly popular marketing strategy, allowing brands to remain relevant while reaching new consumer communities. For beauty brands, food-inspired collections often generate curiosity and social media buzz. For food brands, these collaborations create fresh touchpoints that reinforce brand recall without relying on traditional advertising.
While the collection is currently exclusive to Brazil, it has already attracted attention online for its unconventional approach to brand licensing and product innovation. The collaboration demonstrates how a well-established consumer brand can extend its identity into unexpected categories while remaining instantly recognisable.
