Actor Kareena Kapoor Khan has come on board as an investor in homegrown direct-to-consumer footwear brand Fizzy Goblet, strengthening a partnership that began several years ago when she first became the brand’s ambassador. The investment marks a strategic milestone for the premium footwear label as it looks to accelerate growth, expand its retail footprint and scale revenue to nearly Rs 100 crore over the next two years.
Founded in 2014, Fizzy Goblet started as a premium handcrafted jutti label before expanding into sneakers, loafers, sliders, flats, bags and accessories. Despite broadening its portfolio, footwear continues to account for nearly 90% of the business, with festive footwear, comfort footwear and workwear emerging as its strongest-performing categories.
The company remained bootstrapped for almost a decade before raising around $1.5 million in 2024 from Accel and a group of angel investors. Its current cap table now includes Govil as the majority shareholder, Kapoor, Accel and several angel investors.
Looking ahead, Fizzy Goblet is aiming to generate Rs 60 crore in FY27 and nearly Rs 100 crore in revenue within two years. The brand also plans to expand its offline presence from 16 company-owned stores to 40–50 outlets, focusing on premium retail locations rather than rapid expansion. Existing stores are spread across cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai and Kolkata.
Although India remains its primary market, the company has also built an international customer base through its global website, with overseas orders contributing around 15% of its online business. International deliveries are fulfilled through logistics partners including FedEx and DHL.
Kapoor’s investment reflects a broader trend of celebrities moving beyond brand endorsements to take equity stakes in consumer startups. By becoming an investor, the actor aligns her long-term interests with the company’s growth while signalling confidence in India’s premium fashion and D2C ecosystem.
