Former BharatPe co-founder and Shark Tank India judge Ashneer Grover has unveiled his latest fintech venture, Fund My Staff, an employer-backed lending platform designed to make formal credit more accessible to salaried employees. Developed under Grover’s startup Third Unicorn, the platform enables employers to act as guarantors for their workforce, allowing employees to secure loans even if they have limited or no credit history.

The launch comes after Grover’s healthcare lending platform ZeroPe, which focused on financing medical expenses. With Fund My Staff, the entrepreneur is now targeting a broader workplace finance opportunity by placing employers at the centre of the lending ecosystem.

Traditional lenders often reject or price loans higher for first-time borrowers due to the absence of a credit score or repayment history. Fund My Staff attempts to bridge this gap by shifting the focus from an individual’s credit profile to their employment relationship.

Under the model, employers can partner with the platform and provide a guarantee for employees seeking loans. This employer-backed assurance is expected to reduce lending risk, enabling financial institutions to offer credit to workers who may otherwise struggle to qualify.

Grover announced the platform on LinkedIn, stating that the initiative is intended to address the long-standing divide between those who have easy access to credit and those who do not. He described the venture as an effort to democratise borrowing by making employers active participants in employee financial wellbeing.

The model also offers employers an opportunity to strengthen employee financial wellness programmes without directly disbursing loans from their own balance sheets, creating a structured bridge between businesses, lenders and employees.

Fund My Staff marks another fintech initiative from Third Unicorn, the venture Grover co-founded after exiting BharatPe. The company previously launched ZeroPe, which offers financing for medical expenses, while its fantasy sports platform CrickPe has since been discontinued.
