Actor Varun Dhawan has invested in Better Nutrition, a biofortified staples brand, and joined the company as its brand ambassador. He will also develop his agricultural land into a biofortified farm in collaboration with the company.
Dhawan’s association with Better Nutrition began after he acquired agricultural land and started exploring farming, including the role of soil and seeds in growing food. His interest in biofortification led to an investment in the company and his appointment as brand ambassador.
Better Nutrition sells biofortified staples such as atta, dal, rice and millets. The company says its products contain up to twice the levels of iron, zinc and other essential micronutrients compared with conventional staples. Its products are available through its website and leading quick-commerce platforms.
The company uses biofortified seeds, soil science and farm-level testing to grow crops with higher levels of essential nutrients. It also uses X-ray fluorescence (XRF) technology to measure and validate nutrient levels before processing the crops into food products.
Following videos documenting Dhawan’s farming journey and the announcement of his biofortified farm, Better Nutrition has received enquiries from other farm owners interested in adopting similar practices.

The company has opened applications for its Biofortified Farm programme through its website. Farm owners can submit their details for evaluation to determine whether their land is suitable for the initiative.
The programme aims to expand Better Nutrition’s network of farms by deploying its seed, soil and testing capabilities at suitable locations.
Founded by Prateek Rastogi and Aishwarya Bhatnagar, Better Nutrition operates a seed-to-shelf model covering seeds, soil, farming, testing, crop validation and processing. Its product portfolio includes biofortified atta, rice and pulses.
