Elon Musk has renewed his pitch for Starlink in India, highlighting the satellite internet service’s potential to connect communities that remain underserved by traditional telecom networks.
Musk said Starlink would help the “least served in India, especially in rural areas”, responding to a social media post that pointed to gaps in 4G connectivity across Indian villages.
The comments come as India continues to expand internet and mobile connectivity, while some remote areas still lack reliable access.

Musk’s comments come alongside Starlink’s renewed efforts to enter the Indian market.
The company has reportedly resubmitted an application to IN-SPACe for approval of its Gen 2 satellite constellation, which includes direct-to-device connectivity. The proposed technology could allow compatible devices to connect with satellites in areas beyond conventional network coverage.
