Bengaluru-based healthtech startup Healthify has merged with US-based nutrition care company Berry Street in an all-stock deal. The merger brings together Healthify’s AI-led health platform and Berry Street’s insurance-backed clinical care network, with the combined company looking to strengthen its presence in the US and expand into international markets.
Healthify and Berry Street combine AI with clinical care
The combined entity will be led by Healthify founder Tushar Vashisht and Berry Street founder Noah Kotlove as co-CEOs. The company will operate under the Berry Street brand in the US, while Healthify will continue to be used in India and other markets where the brand already has a presence.
Healthify brings its AI capabilities, including its Ria health assistant and food tracking tools, to the merged business. Its platform uses data related to nutrition, sleep, stress and weight to provide personalised guidance, while also combining AI support with human coaching.
Merger strengthens Healthify’s US expansion
Berry Street provides the combined company with an insurance-backed network of more than 2,000 clinicians across the US. Its care model connects patients with registered dietitians, doctors, and nurse practitioners for nutrition therapy and metabolic health support, including care related to GLP-1 medications.
The merger addresses a key challenge for Healthify’s US expansion by combining its technology with Berry Street’s insurance infrastructure and clinical network. Berry Street has served more than 200,000 patients and supports care across more than 30 conditions, while Healthify has more than 45 million users across over 20 cultures globally.
Financial details of the merger have not been disclosed. Healthify had been seeking to scale its US operations, with insurance coverage for dietitian services identified as a major hurdle, while Berry Street had built the clinical and insurance infrastructure that Healthify lacked in the market.
