D2C dairy brand Epigamia has completed a $20 Mn secondary transaction, with existing investor Verlinvest and the family of late co-founder Rohan Mirchandani increasing their stakes in the company. The transaction involved the purchase of shares from existing investors and did not bring fresh capital into the business.

Verlinvest And Mirchandani Family Increase Stakes

Verlinvest, which first invested in Epigamia during its $6 Mn Series A round in 2016, has continued to participate in subsequent funding rounds. The Mirchandani family has also increased its holding through the transaction, consolidating ownership among existing long-term stakeholders.

DSG Consumer Partners and Deepika Padukone’s investment firm, KA Enterprises, were among the shareholders who sold part of their holdings. Sauce.vc has joined Epigamia’s cap table through the transaction, adding a new institutional investor to the company’s shareholder base.

Epigamia Prepares For Next Growth Phase

The transaction comes a few months after Ritesh Gauba was appointed as Epigamia’s CEO in May 2026. Gauba has more than 24 years of FMCG experience and has previously worked with companies including Mars and Britannia.

Epigamia also elevated COO Ankur Goel to co-founder after Mirchandani’s death in December 2024. Founded in 2015, the company started with Greek yoghurt and has since expanded into artisanal curd, snack packs, mishti doi and smoothies, selling through e-commerce, quick commerce and offline retail channels.

The company claims a distribution network of more than 25,000 retail touchpoints across over 30 cities. Epigamia reported a 74% decline in net loss to Rs 17.4 Cr in FY24, while operating revenue increased 3.3% to Rs 173.7 Cr from Rs 168.1 Cr in the previous fiscal year.
