US based financial technology company Circle Internet Group has signed an agreement to acquire Singapore based cross border payments platform Tazapay, combining Circle’s USDC infrastructure with Tazapay’s fiat and stablecoin payment capabilities across international markets.
The transaction is expected to close in 2027, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals, including approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Until completion, Tazapay will continue operating under its existing brand, licences, products and customer arrangements.
Tazapay Brings Local Payment Infrastructure Across 100 Markets
Tazapay provides virtual accounts, international payouts, stablecoin payments and payment gateway services to businesses operating across borders. The company has licences and registrations across Singapore, the US, Canada, Australia and Hong Kong, along with local payout rails covering more than 100 markets.
The company said it processes around $25 billion in annualised payment volume, with more than 60% of the volume already involving stablecoins. Tazapay also has relationships with more than 60 banking and fintech partners, giving Circle access to established local payment connections and fiat-to-stablecoin bridging infrastructure.
Circle said the acquisition will bring together regulated stablecoin issuance, global payments infrastructure and local fiat payment connectivity. The combination is expected to support additional payment corridors and expand the use of USDC for international money movement.
Tazapay Customers To Continue With Existing Services
Tazapay said its customers will not need to make changes to existing integrations following the announcement. Contracts will continue under their current terms, while virtual accounts, payout routes and settlement arrangements will remain in place.
The company also said account contacts and existing licences will remain unchanged. Tazapay expects the combination with Circle to eventually support broader market coverage, additional payment routes and more cross-border corridors, including payment capabilities outside traditional local banking hours.
Circle has been involved with Tazapay before the proposed acquisition. The company participated as the lead investor in Tazapay’s Series B extension and Tazapay became an early design partner for the Circle Payments Network in 2025, establishing an existing relationship between the two companies.
