Adobe has unveiled a significant expansion of its creative AI platform, Adobe Firefly, introducing advanced video and image generation capabilities along with custom AI models designed to transform how creators ideate, produce, and scale content.

What began as a simple generative AI concept typing a prompt to create an image has now evolved into a more fluid, conversational and iterative creative process. With this latest update, Adobe is positioning Firefly as an all-in-one AI-powered creative studio that enables users to generate, refine, and shape ideas seamlessly in real time.

At the core of this update is the introduction of Firefly custom models, now available in public beta. These models allow users to train AI systems using their own images, effectively capturing their unique visual style. Whether it is illustration, character design, or photography, creators can now build reusable AI models that maintain consistency across projects.

The feature addresses a long-standing challenge for creative professionals and brands preserving a distinct visual identity while scaling content production. By analysing uploaded assets, Firefly trains models that retain critical elements such as colour palettes, lighting, stroke styles, and character features.

In addition to custom models, Firefly now integrates more than 30 industry-leading AI models from companies including Adobe, Google, OpenAI, Runway, and Kling. This multi-model ecosystem allows creators to choose tools based on specific strengths ranging from cinematic video generation to photorealistic imagery and stylised design.

The platform also introduces new editing capabilities aimed at accelerating production. Tools like Quick Cut can convert raw footage into structured edits within minutes, while enhanced image editing features allow users to add or remove objects, extend scenes, and fine-tune outputs with greater precision.

Another major highlight is Adobe’s push toward conversational AI workflows through its agentic AI initiative. Under this, users can interact with AI assistants across applications like Photoshop, Express, and Acrobat to execute creative tasks through simple dialogue.

Central to this vision is Project Moonlight, a conversational interface currently in private beta. Designed to function across Adobe apps, it allows users to describe their ideas in natural language while AI agents execute and refine those ideas in real time, making the creative process more intuitive and dynamic.
