flydubai has entered into new interline agreements with Air India and Uzbekistan Airways, expanding passenger connectivity across Asia, Australia and Europe. The partnerships add more than 80 destinations to flydubai’s network through its airline partners.
The agreements allow passengers to book single-ticket itineraries across the participating airlines, with baggage checked through to the final destination. Air India and Uzbekistan Airways passengers will also gain access to flydubai destinations through Dubai.
With the two additions, flydubai’s interline network now includes 46 partner airlines. The carrier’s interline and codeshare partnerships provide access to more than 300 destinations globally.
Through the Air India partnership, flydubai passengers will gain connections to Indian cities including Bengaluru, Chennai, Chandigarh, Goa, Jaipur, Pune and Varanasi. The network will also provide access to destinations such as Bali, Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Mauritius, Melbourne, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo.
The partnership expands connections between flydubai’s Dubai network and Air India’s destinations across India and international markets. For passengers, the interline arrangement combines the two airlines’ networks under single ticket bookings and through checked baggage.
flydubai began operations in 2009 and now serves more than 120 destinations across its network. The airline has also opened more than 100 routes to markets that previously had no direct air links with Dubai or were not served by a UAE national carrier.
Alongside its own network, flydubai has expanded its global reach through interline and codeshare agreements with other airlines. These partnerships give passengers access to more than 300 destinations worldwide, combining flydubai’s network with those of its airline partners.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer at flydubai, said: “Our interline partnerships with Air India and Uzbekistan Airways mark a significant step forward in flydubai’s network expansion strategy, offering our passengers greater choice as they connect through Dubai. Air India brings South Asia, Southeast Asia and Australian markets within reach, while Uzbekistan Airways adds a vital corridor through Central Asia, Russia and into Europe, further strengthening Dubai’s position as a leading hub connecting the East and the West, and reinforcing our ability to boost connectivity to key international markets.”
Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer at Air India, said: “At Air India, we are steadily expanding our partnerships with leading airlines around the world to offer our customers access to an even broader global network, with seamless connectivity and greater travel choice beyond our own destinations. Our partnership with flydubai strengthens access to markets across the Middle East and beyond via Dubai, while also welcoming flydubai customers onto Air India’s growing international network.”
He further added, “As we continue our transformation journey, we look forward to introducing more travellers to Air India’s new experience and the warmth of true Indian hospitality across an increasing number of routes.”
