Amazon has announced the rollout of more than 100 Urban Fulfillment Centers as it expands its quick commerce offering, Amazon Now. The new facilities are expected to increase the range of products available for rapid delivery, adding categories such as apparel, electronics, jewellery, footwear, luggage, watches, furniture, and musical instruments alongside groceries and daily essentials.

The expansion comes ahead of Prime Day 2026 and builds on Amazon Now’s previously announced plan to reach 100 cities through a network of more than 1,000 Micro Fulfillment Centers. The Urban Fulfillment Centers will serve as an additional layer in the company’s logistics network and are set to be introduced across cities, including Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, and Mumbai.

According to Amazon, the larger-format facilities will complement existing micro-fulfilment centres and enable a broader product assortment while maintaining fast delivery timelines. The company said the new centres will offer customers access to up to four times as much selection as is currently available through Amazon Now.

The rollout is part of Amazon’s broader investment of over Rs 2,800 crore to strengthen its operations network and improve support systems for associates.

Abhinav Singh, Vice President – Operations, Amazon India, APAC, Middle East, Africa and Turkiye, said, “Customers appreciate the speed, convenience and selection available on Amazon.in. As we continue to scale Amazon Now, we remain focused on offering customers a wider selection, value and faster delivery speeds across categories.”

He further added, “This is made possible by our long-term investments in technology, infrastructure, and people over the past 13 years, which have helped us build one of India’s safest, fastest and most reliable networks, powered by advanced technology, AI-driven inventory planning, demand forecasting and a highly optimised operations infrastructure.”

“With the launch of Urban Fulfillment Centers, we are bringing inventory closer to customers, enabling faster deliveries across a wide selection offered by our sellers, so customers continue to get the convenience and value on Amazon Now,’’ he added.
