Apple Raises Mac & iPad Prices In India As AI-Driven Memory Costs Surge

Apple Raises Mac & iPad Prices In India As AI-Driven Memory Costs Surge

Apple has increased the prices of multiple Mac and iPad models in India following a sharp rise in the cost of memory and storage components. The company said the global surge in demand for AI infrastructure has significantly increased semiconductor costs, making it difficult to absorb higher production expenses.

Among the biggest revisions, select MacBook Pro variants have become up to Rs 70,000 more expensive, while MacBook Air, iPad Air, iPad mini, and standard iPad models have also seen price increases. Apple has not announced any changes to iPhone pricing at this stage.

Which Apple Products Have Become More Expensive?

The revised pricing affects a broad range of Apple devices sold in India. MacBook Air models have seen price increases of up to Rs 30,000, while certain MacBook Pro configurations have recorded the steepest jump. Entry-level iPads, iPad Air, and iPad mini models have also become costlier following the latest revision.

Apple has also raised prices for HomePod speakers and Apple TV devices in several markets as higher memory costs continue to affect consumer electronics. However, the company’s iPhone lineup has been excluded from the current round of price revisions.

Why Apple Increased Prices

According to Apple, rapid investments in AI data centers have created an unprecedented increase in demand for memory and storage chips. As suppliers prioritise enterprise AI hardware, component availability for consumer electronics has tightened, pushing manufacturing costs higher across the industry.

Apple’s latest price revision underscores how the global AI boom is reshaping the consumer electronics supply chain. As demand for memory and storage chips continues to rise, higher component costs are increasingly being passed on to consumers, making premium devices such as Macs and iPads more expensive.
