BharatPe has launched BharatPe Flex, a Credit on UPI solution powered by YES BANK, enabling users to make UPI payments with a pre-approved credit line. The product is designed to provide greater flexibility for everyday spending while allowing users to continue using existing UPI payment methods.
BharatPe Flex can be used for a range of transactions, including QR code payments at stores, online purchases, bill payments, mobile recharges, travel bookings, fuel purchases, and other daily expenses. The solution works within the existing UPI ecosystem, allowing users to access credit without adopting a separate payment platform.
BharatPe Launches Credit on UPI Solution
The product enables eligible users to pay through a linked credit line and repay the amount later. Customers can settle dues within 45 days of the interest-free period or convert eligible spends into EMIs based on their repayment preferences. The onboarding process is fully digital, with approvals available within minutes for eligible users.
BharatPe Flex also allows users to track expenses, available credit limits, and repayments through the BharatPe app. In addition, customers can earn rewards on eligible payments made using BharatPe UPI.
How BharatPe Flex Works
To activate the service, users need to open the BharatPe app, select BharatPe Flex, complete the digital onboarding and KYC process, and link the approved credit line with UPI. After setting a UPI PIN, they can begin making payments through BharatPe Flex across UPI-enabled merchants.
Alongside the launch, BharatPe has introduced a new campaign centered on the theme “Pay now. Settle later.” The campaign highlights the growing demand for payment solutions that combine the convenience of UPI with additional flexibility in managing everyday expenses and cash flows.
Speaking on the launch, Nalin Negi, CEO, BharatPe, said, “UPI has fundamentally transformed the way India transacts by making payments instant, interoperable, and accessible at scale. As digital payments mature, we believe the next phase of innovation will focus on providing consumers with greater flexibility and control over how they manage everyday expenses.”
He further added, “BharatPe Flex has been built to address that emerging need by combining the familiarity of UPI with the convenience of credit in a seamless and intuitive manner.”
Anil Singh, Country Head, Credit Cards & Merchant Acquiring, YES BANK, said, YES BANK has been a major player in India’s UPI ecosystem, supporting the growth of digital payments through strong technology infrastructure and innovation-led solutions.
