CARS24 has appointed MS Dhoni as the Goodwill Ambassador for its Crashfree India initiative, aimed at reducing road fatalities in the country. The initiative is positioned as a long term effort with a target of lowering road deaths by 2040 and will be promoted across digital platforms.
The initiative is aimed at addressing the scale of road accidents in India, where around 1.8 lakh deaths are recorded annually. The campaign highlights common causes such as speeding, lack of attention and unsafe driving behaviour.
Through this move, the company is using Dhoni’s public profile to support awareness around responsible driving. The campaign centres on the idea that road safety depends on individual behaviour as well as shared responsibility among all road users.
