Deloitte India & CAST Partner To Drive AI-Led Application Modernisation Across Asia-Pacific

Deloitte India and CAST have entered into a strategic alliance to help enterprises across Asia-Pacific and Japan modernise their application environments and optimise technology portfolios using AI and software intelligence.

The partnership will combine Deloitte’s consulting, engineering and transformation expertise with CAST’s technology for mapping and analysing enterprise software. The companies aim to help organisations gain a clearer view of complex application estates and make more informed decisions around modernisation, cloud migration, AI adoption and technology investments.

The alliance addresses a common challenge for enterprises managing technology environments that have expanded through years of acquisitions, business changes and decentralised investments. Such application estates can contain duplicated systems, complex dependencies and technical debt, making it difficult for organisations to determine what needs to be modernised and where transformation efforts should begin.

CAST will provide software intelligence across application portfolios, covering areas such as application architecture, dependencies, technical debt, open-source risks and modernisation complexity. Deloitte will use these insights within its transformation engagements to assess application readiness for AI capabilities and agentic workflows, while helping teams plan and execute modernisation programmes.

The combined offering will cover several enterprise technology priorities. For cloud and application modernisation, it will help organisations map application portfolios, document complex systems and identify code-level challenges that can influence decisions around rehosting, refactoring or rebuilding applications.

The partnership will also support M&A and technology due diligence, giving organisations greater visibility into software risks, technical debt and underlying application structures. For managed services, the technology can help teams understand legacy environments faster, improve engineering productivity and identify potential areas for operational cost reduction.

Deloitte and CAST also plan to apply the technology to cybersecurity, AI readiness and Green IT initiatives, where application-level data can provide additional context for technology decisions.

Under the alliance, CAST will provide Deloitte teams with access to its software intelligence platforms, assessment outputs, architecture and dependency insights, along with training and enablement resources. Deloitte will incorporate these capabilities into client engagements and develop use-case playbooks covering technology due diligence, legacy and mainframe modernisation, cloud transformation, AI readiness and managed services.

The partnership will initially focus on joint opportunities across Asia-Pacific. Deloitte and CAST also plan to develop assessment environments, proof-of-value engagements and industry-specific solution accelerators, supported by client workshops and joint market initiatives.

Over time, the two companies aim to integrate software intelligence more deeply into enterprise transformation programmes, creating repeatable approaches for portfolio rationalisation, engineering modernisation and AI adoption. The broader objective is to help organisations base technology transformation decisions on application-level data rather than assumptions, while improving predictability and reducing associated risk and costs.

Debasish Chatterjee, Partner and Software Engineering leader, Deloitte India, said, “Enterprise transformation today is no longer about AI, cloud or modernisation in isolation. Organisations must navigate all three priorities simultaneously, often across complex application landscapes built over many years. Deloitte’s focus is to help clients bridge the gap between strategy and execution, enabling faster innovation, greater operational efficiency and tangible business outcomes in the fast-paced business world.”

He further added, “Through our strategic alliance with CAST, we are bringing software intelligence to the forefront of transformation, helping clients gain deeper visibility into their technology estate, reduce modernisation risk and accelerate value realisation from their digital and AI investments.”

Marc Zablit, EVP Business Development and Global Partnerships, CAST, said, “Context matters as much as the model when it comes to AI working on existing code. Agent accuracy tends to be quite low in brownfield applications because AI lacks specific knowledge of its dependencies and transaction flows. This results in rework and token burn. But when AI is equipped with deterministic context from CAST, clients have measured and reported to us 2x increases in accuracy and significant drops in token usage.”
