As IPL season grips the nation, Swiggy has partnered with veteran cricketer Dinesh Karthik for a new campaign that spotlights the deep-rooted connection between cricket fandom and food. At the heart of the campaign is a light-hearted digital film that positions Swiggy as the “perfect teammate” for match days, reinforcing how ordering food has become a natural part of the cricket-watching ritual across Indian households.
Set in a familiar home environment, the film captures a family gathered around the dining table during a match. In a humorous twist, Dinesh Karthik appears in unexpected moments, bringing his on-field intensity into the domestic setting. From taking up a wicketkeeper’s stance at the table to delivering “stump mic”-style commentary while food is passed around, the film blends cricketing energy with everyday mealtime interactions.
The narrative highlights how food and cricket are intrinsically linked in India, whether it’s friends coming together for a game or families bonding over a live match. The campaign underscores the idea that ordering in is no longer an add-on, but an integral part of the viewing experience.
