Flipkart has expanded its Zero Commission policy to cover all fashion products sold on its marketplace, removing the earlier price cap of Rs 1,000. The move means fashion sellers across all price segments will no longer pay commission on sales made through the platform.
The policy applies to approximately 90,000 fashion sellers who transact, including MSMEs, direct-to-consumer brands, and other businesses. According to the company, the change is intended to help sellers retain a larger share of their earnings while encouraging them to expand their product offerings.
Flipkart said sellers will also have access to AI-powered tools on the seller dashboard, including demand insights, trend analysis, and catalog management features, to support inventory planning and business growth.
The company expects the expanded policy to increase the availability of fashion products across different price points, including premium categories, while giving shoppers a wider selection.
The announcement comes as fashion remains one of Flipkart’s key categories. The company said Gen Z customers now account for nearly half of its fashion audience, reflecting changing shopping preferences and growing demand for a broader range of styles.
Kapil Thirani, Vice President, Flipkart Fashion, said, “India’s fashion ecosystem is evolving rapidly, with MSMEs, homegrown brands, and D2C businesses driving much of that momentum. Our role is to create the conditions for them to grow. By extending this seller-first initiative across the entire fashion category, we are making a long-term investment in our sellers so they can invest more confidently in innovation, assortment expansion, and brand building.”
He further added, “As they grow, customers benefit from greater choice, faster access to new trends, and better value. That’s the virtuous cycle we want to strengthen.”
