Through this agreement, Flipkart will gain access to the Department of Posts’ network of more than 1.6 lakh post offices spread across the country. The partnership is expected to improve serviceability in remote and underserved locations while enabling wider market reach for the e-commerce platform.
The agreement includes delivery solutions for both prepaid and cash on delivery parcels. It also covers OTP based delivery authentication and real time shipment tracking to improve operational efficiency and customer convenience. The collaboration focuses on enhancing customer experience through faster deliveries, better coordination between logistics operations and technology integration for smoother parcel handling and tracking.
The partnership is also expected to strengthen India’s e-commerce logistics ecosystem by improving the infrastructure required to support rising online shopping demand across the country. With growing digital commerce adoption in India, the agreement aims to support efficient parcel distribution across diverse geographies.
The Department of Posts stated that the collaboration aligns with its ongoing efforts to transform into a leading logistics organisation capable of supporting the evolving requirements of India’s digital economy. The partnership is also expected to enhance the utilisation of India Post’s delivery network and logistics infrastructure while strengthening its parcel business operations.
Department of Posts currently operates one of the largest postal networks in the world, while Flipkart continues to serve millions of customers across India through its e-commerce and digital commerce services.
