Three-time Indian Premier League champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have unveiled their new jersey ahead of the Indian Premier League 2026 season, introducing a design concept titled “Lines of Legacy.”
The new kit features KKR’s signature rich purple and shimmering gold colours, while incorporating a deeper storytelling element that reflects the franchise’s journey in the league over the years.
At the core of the design are the defining moments that have shaped KKR’s history. These include memorable performances such as Brendon McCullum’s historic 158 in the opening match of the IPL in 2008*, as well as Rinku Singh’s remarkable five consecutive sixes in the final over, moments that have become part of IPL folklore.
Each of these iconic events is represented as a “line” in the franchise’s story. When these lines converge, they form the initials K-K-R in an abstract linear art style, a creative concept that visually captures the team’s journey.
This season, the franchise has embedded those symbolic lines directly into the jersey design, allowing fans to literally wear a piece of the team’s history.

Each line represents a pivotal moment of brilliance, reflecting the energy and spirit that weaves together to form our identity. We are proud of this legacy that we have built and want to carry it into the upcoming season while creating more memories for our fans to cherish.”
To amplify the launch, the franchise rolled out a digital-first campaign across social media platforms. The creative campaign culminated in a short film featuring artists and creators from different parts of the entertainment industry.
Discussing the storytelling behind the campaign film, Binda Dey, Chief Marketing Officer of Knight Riders Sports, said: “Through our ‘Kya Line Hai?’ campaign film featuring actor Rajat Bedi and comedian Anirban Dasgupta, and other popular creators from Kolkata, we wanted to bring the idea of the ‘Lines of Legacy’ to life and celebrate the iconic moments that define KKR’s journey. The campaign invites fans to be part of that story as we head into a new season. By collaborating with local Kolkata influencers and creators, we’re bringing the legacy of the team to fans in a fun and authentic way.”
The social media build-up ahead of the launch reflected strong fan engagement, with the hashtag #LinesOfLegacy trending across digital platforms for nearly 48 hours leading up to the official jersey reveal.
