Crocs has announced Indian cricketer KL Rahul as its newest brand ambassador, marking a significant step in its India growth strategy. With this partnership, Rahul becomes the first Indian athlete to take on the role of a global brand ambassador for the company.

The association is anchored in Crocs’ latest campaign, ‘Play Hard. Rest Easy.’, which reimagines the rituals surrounding sport, shifting focus from just performance on the field to the moments before and after the game.

Built around the brand’s iconic Classic Clog, the campaign highlights how comfort and self-expression play a key role in an athlete’s everyday routine. From arriving at the ground to unwinding after intense matches, Crocs positions itself as a constant companion in an athlete’s journey.

The campaign film offers a candid glimpse into KL Rahul’s off-field life, capturing intimate and relatable moments, from relaxing at home and spending time with his dog to gearing up for match day. A humorous touch is added when his driver remarks, “Bhaiya apne Crocs shoes ke bina kahin nahin jaate,” reinforcing the authenticity of Rahul’s association with the brand.

The narrative then transitions into match-day mode, showcasing Rahul moving seamlessly between personal downtime and professional intensity. In a playful nod to his initials, Rahul remarks, “The ‘KL’ in KL Rahul stands for Keep Light and I am always KL-ing,” encapsulating the campaign’s core idea of balance between effort and ease.

Speaking about the association, KL Rahul said “I’m excited to partner with Crocs and be part of a campaign that feels so true to my lifestyle. Sharing his thoughts, Sidhant Mago, Creative Head, Daftar Creative Room, said“The idea behind the campaign was to tell a story about sport beyond the field, those in-between moments that rarely get seen but are very real for athletes.
